I am raising funds to help Queenslanders living with MS and other neurological conditions.

I am taking part in the 2024 MS Moonlight Walk to shine a light on the 1 million Queenslanders living with a neurological condition like multiple sclerosis (MS).

I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS 3 years ago at the age of 25. As a young person you don't expect to be diagnosed with a life-changing illness, and it can be terrifying not knowing what will happen in the future. At the time, I barely knew anything about MS and had only really heard about the worst outcomes. 

Thankfully the treatments available have improved due to research, and I have not had any further relapses since diagnosis, but there is no cure and no guaranteed way to prevent progression. Donations will fund support services and contribute to research on treatments and finding a cure.

• More than 5,500 people in Queensland are living with MS.

• The average age of diagnosis is just 30 years of age.

• Three out of four Australians with MS are women.

Your support will help fund essential services for Queenslanders. These services include the NeuroAssist Helpline, specialist nursing services, more Neuro Wellness Hubs and support to access vital funds through the NDIS. Your support will also power research into better treatments, and with your support, our hope is that one day there will be a cure for MS.
