About Neuro

The MS Moonlight Walk exists to shine a light a neurological conditions, and ensure that every Queenslander living with a neuro condition can connect to a better life.

What is neuro?

Neurological conditions are a group of disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord and/or nerves, and impact the way your mind and body work. Examples of neuro conditions include multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinsons, dementia, epilepsy, motor neuron disease (MND), stroke, and many, many others.

Neurological conditions can severely impact the health and daily life of the people living them, as well as those close to them - family, friends, and colleagues. With 1 in 4 Queenslanders living with a neuro condition, every home, family and workplace is likely to be affected in some way

Neurological conditions can affect anyone at any age. They are typically lifelong, and they often worsen over time.

Every person’s journey with a neurological condition is different. They have a very wide range of possible symptoms, ranging from ‘visible’ – like losing the ability to walk – to ‘invisible’ – like changes to the way you think, that can make it hard to work or interact socially.

Why is the MS Moonlight Walk raising funds for people with a neuro condition?

MS Queensland has been the largest provider of neurological supports in Queensland for 65 years, and the MS Moonlight walk will help ensure vital services can continue to be provided, and supports avaliable will continue to grow.
