We are raising funds to shine a light on Queenslanders living with MS and neurological conditions.

We are taking part in the 2024 MS Moonlight Walk to shine a light on the 1 million Queenslanders living with a neurological condition like multiple sclerosis (MS).

With glowing lanterns held high, we will walk with purpose, striving towards a united goal of ensuring every Queenslander with MS can connect to a better life.

Did you know:

More than 5,500 people in Queenslanders living with MS.
The average age of diagnosis is just 30 years of age.
Three out of four Australians with MS are women.

Your support will help fund essential services for Queenslanders. These services include the NeuroAssist Helpline, specialist nursing services, more Neuro Wellness Hubs and support to access vital funds through the NDIS. Your support will also power research into better treatments, and with your support, our hope is that one day there will be a cure for MS.

Sunshine Coast 2024 Walk

The MS Moonlight Walk has come around quickly this year. We will be starting the walk by sending of the 5km walkers at 5.30pm next Saturday the 19th of October. It would be great if everyone could be there and ready to go by 5.20pm so we can take photos before. All of the lanterns and fundraising rewards for those registered this year will be sent to me for you all to collect prior to the walk. Merchandise that you’ve purchased should have already been sent to you (let me know if you haven’t received it). We will be at the start from 4.30pm to make sure we have time to hand out lanterns and ensure they are working. The team’s Fundraising is ‘smashing it’ with nearly $11,000 raised and a big thanks to Gaye Bates who has powered past me raising money in memory of her husband Lindsay that didn’t get to join us last year.

One week out and the weather is looking perfect and the wind speed is forecasted for less than half of last year (maybe bring a jumper in case).

To celebrate

Like last year we’ll have some snacks at the end of the walk and I have also booked the Surf Club again for dinner after. Can you please let me know asap if you want to join us at the Surf Club so I can confirm the booking? (email me - Lfarrer@bigpond.com)
